Portable encryption unit
The MA-4225 is a portable voice encryption unit developed and sold by
Racal COMSEC Ltd.
in the UK in the early 1980s.
It has roughly the size as a portable radio (transceiver) and was
probably used to add secure voice transmission to such portable radios.
|
Judging from the manufacturing date-codes on the various chips on the PCB,
the units was built around 1984. The MA-4225 contains
one large PCB with nearly 20 different hybrid
building blocks, most of which are sealed.
At present no further information about this portable unit is available.
